There is still no official word regarding the release of the latest installment in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series, "The Winds of Winter." Because of this, the demand for it to be released has grown exponentially, leading to fans directly contacting the author through different social media and online medie. Now, Martin has reportedly released a new teaser for the upcoming book in what looks to be an effort to appease fans and to make their wait slightly bearable.

The best-selling author has reportedly partnered with Apple to celebrate his novel series' 20th anniversary. Through the partnership, a brand new enhanced edition of Martin's novels have been released. The release, titled "A Game of Thrones: Enhanced Edition," is now available on iBooks and retails for $8.99.

The book itself contains several details and diagrams that further delves into the backstory of the novels and of the HBO television series. It contains interactive maps, character backgrounds, family trees, timelines, and a summary of all the 92 family sigils that are referenced in both the novel and the television series.

As an added bonus to avid readers of the novel series, Martin has apparently included an excerpt from the highly anticipated new installment, "The Winds of Winter," into the book itself. The bonus chapter was previously available on Martin's own website, but now fans can have a copy of it by purchasing the newly released content.

Martin himself has also released a statement following the launch of the new book and stated his amazement at how technology would be changing the way books are published. He also mentioned that the book itself will contain some never-before-seen "secondary material" that should give answers to the various questions readers have been asking about the novel series.

As for the sixth book in the series, Martin still continues to keep mum about its official release date, but he did mention that he was still working on "The Winds of Winter."
