Is "The Voice" bringing "the Biebs" when the show returns next season?

The recently concluded finale of NBC's singing reality competition received the lowest ratings since the show began in 2011. Because of this, the producers are said to be seriously considering getting pop superstar Justin Bieber as one of the new coaches in the ninth season of "The Voice."

"This last season of The Voice had its finale be the least rated ever and Mark Burnett has taken notice," a source told Hollywood Life. "He wants to mix it up to get ratings up and get younger viewers to watch the show."

This could reportedly be fixed by revamping the line-up of the celebrity coaches, and the insider mentioned that "one of the seats the show wants to fill is [with] Justin Bieber."

If this will come to pass, then the network might be doing the right move to entice more people to watch the show. Bieber is known to be one of the most popular entertainers in the world, and his legion of fans, called the "Beliebers," are likely to tune in to each episode if he is on it.

But while producers reportedly want Bieber to have a spot in the iconic red chair in "The Voice," one of the original coaches is said to be getting the boot. Radar Online received information claiming that the staffers of the show are hoping that Christina Aguilera would not return in season 9 because of her alleged diva attitude.

According to a network insider, the 34-year-old pop idol earned the ire of the staff since the start of the recently concluded season because of her constant tardiness. She also reportedly did not get along well with her fellow coaches, specifically Adam Levine. The insider also claimed that Aguilera was extremely difficult to work with this season because of her bad attitude, and there is a big tension between her and the Maroon 5 frontman. The staff members of "The Voice" are allegedly hoping that Shakira or Gwen Stefani will replace her when the show returns for season 9.

NBC is expected to announce more information about the ninth season of "The Voice" in the coming days, including the final list of coaches. Fans are hoping to see the return of Levine, Blake Sheldon, and Pharell Williams when the singing reality show returns.
