In the next episode of "The Middle," Axl Heck (Charlie McDermott) finally introduces his girlfriend Lexie Brook's (Daniela Bobadilla) parents to his own folks.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Meet the Parents" was just released recently and showed Lexie's rich parents Tammy (Lisa Rinna) and Bennett (Gregory Harrison) exchanging pleasantries with Axl's folks, Frankie (Patricia Heaton) and Mike (Neil Flynn). However, they start to get insecure when Tammy and Bennet give Lexie a new laptop computer. In return, Mike motions to his daughter Sue (Eden Sher) and says, "Here is five dollars. Get yourself one of those fancy coffees." Sue jumps up in excitement and tells her mom that she got five dollars from Mike. It remains to be seen how the meet-up of parents will conclude.

In the meantime, Brick (Atticus Shaffer) is excited about the Sophomore Slammer fundraiser where classmates arrest one another and place them in jail. Other students can bail them out with money which will go to a charity. Unfortunately, no matter how hard Brick tries to get arrested, none of the students will lift a finger to apprehend him. This sadly puts a damper on Brick's day.

In the previous episode, Frankie gave a scarf to her neighbor Nancy Donahue (Jen Ray) who liked it very much. As a sign of gratitude, she made a bowl of apple pie and gave it to Frankie to enjoy.

One day, however, Donahue tricked Frankie into thinking that she had an emotional problem when she gave her a subpar pepper steak bowl. Frankie felt pity for her and made Donahue a delicious salad. Donahue ate the food and said in her dining room, "They fell for it!"

"The Middle" season 9 episode 3 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
