Actor and comedian Orlando Jones is giving back to churches in Wilmington, North Carolina by raising money for their respective needs.

Jones has adopted Wilmington as a home from home since his television show, "Sleepy Hollow," is filmed there, and was glad to help the community pillars.

"There are a number of churches in the area that have building funds and need new choir robes so one of the things I'm enjoying in the off-season is raising money for those institutions because they do so much to help the community and often don't get a lot of support," he told Fox News

"So [it's] a lot of fun to do that... just sort of settling into the North Carolina community as a new resident."

Jones grew up in Alabama and South Carolina, and rose to prominence as a writer and producer in Hollywood. He stepped in front of the camera as a member of the original cast of sketch comedy show "MADtv," and is also remembered as the "7 UP guy" from a series of popular commercials in the early 2000s.

The 46-year-old joined the cast of "Sleepy Hollow" in 2013, and plays the chief of the town's police department who has come back from the dead.

There are two episodes left in season two, with the finale airing on February 23 on FOX.
