'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date rumors: Another leak points to different date

The action and adventure game "Red Dead Redemption 2" should be coming out anytime soon now. While there is no exact release date mentioned by developers Rockstar Games, previous leaks pointed to a June 8, 2018 release date. However, according to recent reports, another leak shows a different date.

This new leak comes from a listing on Amazon Mexico, as per GameZone. According to the product details, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be released, or at least be available for orders, on July 12, 2018. That is about a month later than the previous leak, and it puts the game release a couple of weeks outside the Spring release date the developers originally mentioned.

Other Amazon sites had placeholder dates so the one for Mexico could obviously be just a placeholder as well. However, given that it is Amazon, one of the biggest online retailers, some give it some authenticity. Others, however, argue that it may be just some random date, as they do not exactly have any direct connection with Rockstar Games.

This is the latest news in addition to all the previous rumors that have appeared about its release date. It is only the first month of 2018, and this is already the second leak this year. 2017 already had a lot of leak dates for the year and none of them probed to be true.

If anything, the most people could get out of these two leaks so far is a narrower release window. At most, it could provide an estimate as to when the game will actually come out.

As for now, there is still no official release date from Rockstar Games aside from their Spring release window. If fans follow their pattern of announcing release dates, they usually come by the end of January. If that is their same plan, then fans can expect an announcement soon.
