The second season of "One Punch Man" is expected to be released in October 2016, but its exact date is still unknown.

Regardless, fans are way more excited to know the specifics of the second season after its initial confirmation. According to Yibada, new details on the anime will be possibly released at Anime Expo 2016. The same report states that it could be possible for the anime to have more than 12 episodes, which certainly makes fans more hyped up than ever.

Yet even so, it might be possible for the anime to be delayed further into 2017 due to lack of source material. Yusuke Murata, the anime artist, and One, the pseudonym used by the creator of "One Punch Man," are already collaborating, with the former assuring that the material has been updated in accordance with the anime. As for details regarding the specific storyline involved, Murata has yet to divulge more.

Furthermore, MNR Daily reports that Murata is hard-pressed in terms of requirements, working on 100 sketches, inked pages and storyboards just for this anime. Additionally, the team working behind the series works 10 hours a day in order to meet the standards set by Madhouse Entertainment, the media distributor for the "One Punch Man" anime and manga.

It's rumored for the "One Punch Man" second season to feature a civil war-like storyline, which involves the Hero Association and the Hero Hunters. As it stands, Saitama and Genos are stuck in the crossfire. Others fans of the anime speculate that the Hero Hunt storyline will be used instead. The plot of this storyline revolves around a former student of Silver Fang, an S-Class Hero.

In any case, the Anime Expo 2016 event is scheduled for July 1 to 4. This event will be held in Los Angeles, California, and fans are hyped to hear more about the second season of "One Punch Man."
