Fans noted that "The Sims 3" was released in 2009 while "The Sims 4" was released sometime in 2014. Considering the five years that passed between the release dates for the two games, Sims players thought the release of "The Sims 5" is near overdue.

If prior release dates are to be followed, it would seem that "The Sims 5" will see its release sometime in 2019 or 2020.

Of course, players expect better graphics and sound in the upcoming sequel when it comes out. However, according to speculation, "The Sims 5" will also put more emphasis into the relationships of both player-controlled Sims and those controlled by artificial intelligence (AI).
