Three years after its initial announcement, it seems that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released sometime in 2017. However, there are still no definite release dates provided by Square Enix, but for now, players should anticipate for the launch of "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" for the PS4 on January 24, 2017.

According to Game N Guide, the premise of the "Kingdom Hearts 3" game could possibly revolve around the main protagonist Sora and his companions in a quest to gather the Seven Guardians of Light. Furthermore, it was then revealed that Donald and Goofy will accompany the hero in order to find the key to return Hearts. Avid fans of the franchise are now looking forward to finding out more of Sora's new adventures with Donald and Goofy, who are all featured in the upcoming game.

For those new to the game, the naming convention for the "Kingdom Hearts" games might be quite strange, but its producers have certainly acknowledged it as well. As such, in order to prevent even more confusion from the fans, Square Enix has made the decision to evaluate the entire series before they even started developing the new game.

Shinji Hashimoto — the game's producer — said that an unseen portion from an earlier game will tell an important story that connects it to "Kingdom Hearts 3." The passage is short, especially for the game's more seasoned veterans, but regardless of the length of the experience, there will be a substantial amount of lore and playable material that can be used in the latest entry into the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise.

Meanwhile, Gaming Bolt revealed that the "Kingdom Hearts 3" game's hype is still stable. This is quite an impressive feat considering the fact that it was announced three years ago, but in the latest Famitsu Most Wanted Charts, the game was still able to land the ninth spot on the list.

Hopefully, the game's release date will be announced soon as eager "Kingdom Hearts" fans are starting to get impatient.
