Before Josh Duggar's molestation scandal came to light, several members of the Duggar family have readily given interviews with the media and talked freely about their daily lives. Moreover, they have also amassed a lot of fans through their social media accounts. Josh's younger sisters Jill and Jessa each have more than a million followers on their respective Instagram accounts, and even Josiah Duggar, who has entered into a courting relationship with Marjorie Jackson, has opened an account on the photo sharing app.

But the eldest Duggar girl, Jana, has quietly stayed in the sidelines while her sisters talked to the press about their marriages, their pregnancies, and their spouses, and shared photo after photo on social media. Although parents Jim Bob and Michelle have often talked about the buddy system in their family wherein an older sibling is tasked to care for and guide a younger sibling in his or her studies, fans of the show have dubbed Jana as the "Cinderella Duggar."

Fans have often speculated that Jana may want to go to college or take on a job somewhere else. However, the 25-year old has never left home, and now, there are rumors that the reason why Jana has decided to take care of her siblings instead of leaving their Arkansas home may have something to do with Josh's scandal.

One Twitter user noted that Jana "looked depressed and shut down" and no longer wonders why she stays home as she "needs to protect her littlest siblings."
