Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) might have a problem with Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) possible love life when "Grey's Anatomy" returns for season 13.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McKidd revealed that Owen will be disappointed when he finds out that his best friend hooked up with Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) last season.

According to the actor, the secret about the steamy affair between Mer and Riggs will be revealed in season 13, and it will not sit well with Owen.

"I don't think Owen is going to be happy about that. He's almost becoming an unofficial brother to Meredith. Derek was his friend. He'll be a bit territorial, to be honest," McKidd stated.

When Riggs was introduced in season 12, fans of the show found out that he and Owen used to be very close friends. They even almost became brothers-in-law when Riggs got engaged with Owen's sister, Megan.

But when the helicopter bearing Megan and a patient mysteriously disappeared, Owen started to blame Riggs since Megan boarded the helicopter to get away from him after finding out that he was cheating on her.

"Also, the last time Riggs got close to somebody Owen cares about, she died. He might be being a little irrational when he finds out," the actor stated.

However, Owen will just be one of the hindrances in the possible romance between Mer and Riggs, since her half-sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary) also admitted that she likes Riggs, and felt that he likes her as well.

Meanwhile, fans are also looking forward to seeing any development in the relationship of estranged couple Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and April Kepner (Sarah Drew) after the arrival of their child. In an interview with TVLine, Williams said that there could be a chance to see them back together, but it will be on a "day to day" basis.

"They can have a very civil, mature conversation one moment, then be at each other's throats [the next], because real life is like that. We carry frustrations and baggage and grudges," the actor said. "It's a very passionate relationship with a lot of history behind it."

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will premiere on ABC on Thursday, Sept. 22.
