Conor McGregor next fight news: he and Dana White have been talking

Following the decision of UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor to drop out of the upcoming UFC 200 pay-per-view event that takes place this July 9, he and UFC President Dana White have reportedly met and discussed whom McGregor might face next and when this fight could take place, states TMZ.

According to the report, White, McGregor and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta recently met at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills to discuss McGregor's next match. It is further stated that this meeting took roughly two hours and it is now speculated that an official announcement may be made by this weekend or during the UFC 200 event.

MMA Mania points out that McGregor was initially going to go up against Nate Diaz in a welterweight match during UFC 200 but the champion dropped out when the promotion department denied his request that he be absolved of all promotional duties. It was revealed that McGregor did not want to shoot the commercials for his UFC 200 match.

Despite the short feud with White regarding the promotions for UFC 200 and the eventual cancelation of McGregor's match, TMZ reports that the two were smiling and friendly toward each other during their meeting, indicating that they are not against each other on a personal level and are working things out to arrange a new fight for McGregor.

There are no confirmations yet regarding his next bout but fans speculate that his match with Nate Diaz may push forward at a later event or he may have to defend his Featherweight title against the next top contender. Either choice is favorable with fans but even if an announcement is made it does not mean the fight will take place immediately.

According to a report from Yahoo! it is possible that McGregor's next fight won't happen until August at the earliest. There are also rumors that McGregor is trying to arrange an exhibition match against retired boxer Floyd Mayweather.
