Fans are eagerly waiting for the return of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3, but it looks like it's going to be quite a long wait, since it's still more or less three months away.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." capped off the first half of its third season with an action-packed episode. Episode 10, titled "Maveth," ended with Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) killing the villainous Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) by using his prosthetic robot arm to crush the latter's chest.

The big catch, however, is that the Inhuman has taken over Ward's body and has been transported back to Earth, along with Coulson and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker).

With a possible new enemy in their midst, viewers are excited to find out how the agents will deal with it. The threat, after all, is not human.

The promo video for the next half of the comic-based show was released after episode 10 aired, but it offers little to no information as to what the rest of season 3 has in store for viewers. The video showed the agents in a frenzy as they race against the clock, but it quickly transitions to promote another one of Marvel's creations, "Agent Carter."

It is reasonable to speculate, however, that the other half of season 3 will deal with this new potential threat in the form of Ward.

In an interview with IGN, Dalton teased his new character in season 3, which he calls "Ward 2.0."

"There's a whole bunch of different things that I get to explore with this creature; I guess you could call it Ward 2.0," he shared.

He also gives a hint as to what the Inhuman aims to accomplish, adding, "Perhaps this creature's task is somehow is even bigger than -- I'm trying not to give away plot stuff. [He has a bigger task] than some of the other Inhumans, and that might be his task in this greater picture."

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on March 8, 2016.
