Ever had a feeling that sleep is just seconds away, but you have to stay awake because it's just not the right time and place to sleep?

Well, an adorable teacup chihuahua experienced just that on her front porch.

The tiny puppy named Chica, aged seven months old, was lying on her front in Birmingham and trying to fend off sleep, according to the Daily Mail. Her owner Penny thought the sight was so hilarious that she decided to take a video of it.

The video, which was uploaded in Chica's Instagram page, shows the young pup slowly closing her eyes as her head starts to droop. When she tries to put her head back up, it only ends up on the floor.

"She's forever falling asleep," her owner said. "I've found her in the most unusual situations conked out, she's adorable."

Chihuahuas are actually one of the most popular pet dog breeds in the world. They have one of the longest lifespans as well, with a regular chihuahua enjoying an average lifespan of 10 to 18 years, according to Totally Chihuahuas.

They also come in an assortment of colour combinations: black, white, brown, or a mix of all these. Their hair can be long, short, or mid-coat. It can be silky, wiry — depending on the owner's preference.

At the same time, they are the smallest breed of dogs in the world. But as tiny as they are, chihuahuas are actually great defenders of their homes and owners. The reason why chihuahuas make ideals pets is because they form a very close attachment to their owners. It has even been said that they can die from a broken heart when separated from their owner, and they don't think twice about jumping out of their owner's arms onto a larger dog to protect their master.
