8 scriptures on how God makes us holy

We can never overemphasise the holiness of the God we serve, and we see this best in what He has done to make us holy. It was for holiness' sake that Jesus lovingly laid down His life so that we could approach freely a God who cannot co-exist with sin.

God is so holy that He showed the prophet a vision of angels singing solely of the holiness of the Lord (Isaiah 6:3). And because God is holy, He calls for us to be holy as well just as He originally created us to be holy.

To be holy means to be set apart and to be perfect in every way free from blemish, spot or wrinkle in every sense. Truth be told, no one has and will ever achieve this holiness except Jesus Christ Himself. But the good news is that one Man, who is also God, exchanged our filthiness for His righteousness.

We can never be holy on our own, but God made a way for us to be holy by redeeming us through the blood of Lamb who was slain for our sins - Jesus Christ. Here are scriptures that declare to us how God makes us holy.

2 Chronicles 7:14. "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Psalm 51:10. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."

Jeremiah 31:34. "And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord, ' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

Malachi 3:3. "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the Lord."

Romans 5:1. "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Romans 15:15-16. "But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit."

1 Thessalonians 5:23. "Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Hebrews 13:12. "So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood."
