Switchfoot has launched the online world premiere of its new music video "Oh! Gravity." yesterday through Yahoo Music.

The clip from the multi-platinum band's sixth studio disc of the same name hit Switchfoot.com today.

Oh! Gravity. releases to stores everywhere 26 December.

Switchfoot has just posted all of the new song lyrics along with an updated band biography and lead singer Jon Foreman's insightful notes about how Oh! Gravity. came together.

Discussing the studio time with producer Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam), Foreman says, "This was one of the most enjoyable records we've ever made. I feel that (Palmer's) mixes are among my favorite mixes we've ever had, they sound unlike anything I've heard in a long time. He really brought the record to a place that we wouldn't have gone on our own."

The group was founded in 1996 by Jon and his brother Tim, along with Chad on drums, as Chin Up. After only a handful of shows, they were signed by Charlie Peacock to re:think Records as "Switchfoot", a surfing term meaning to shift your feet on the board to take a new stance facing the opposite direction.

In 2004, Switchfoot's frontman Jon Foreman claimed to be "Christian by faith, not by genre".

"We've always been very open and honest about where the songs are coming from. For us, these songs are for everyone. Calling us 'Christian rock' tends to be a box that closes some people out and excludes them. And that's not what we're trying to do. Music has always opened my mind - and that's what we want."
