It may only be a matter of time before the highly awaited "Star Wars: Battlefront" expansion packs will be available, something that was originally rumoured to be out by the first quarter of 2016.

Word around the street is that there will be four expansion packs coming out for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC. Among the features these will most likely carry include new maps, additional map types, new characters (both heroes and villains) and more.

It remains to be seen if any or all of these features plus more would be actually present though the first DLC pack to be released will likely be an indicator of things to look forward to.

For now, there is no word on the actual price the DLC packs will carry individually. But for the ones who are interested, the packs can all be bought for $50 via the Battlefront Season Pass.

But the question right now is really when Electronic Arts and DICE plan to make the announcement and eventually lift the covers on what lies ahead for "Star Wars: Battlefront" gamers.

One thing is certain, though. "Star Wars: Battlefront" should not keep their hopes up for a possible "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" theme. This was already made clear by EA and DICE, stressing that the DLC packs will focus only on the original "Star Wars" trilogy.

As far as the special request made by gamers on a possible offline multiplayer mode, nothing definite has been mentioned. While DICE and EA could be considering it, its integration is still unconfirmed. But if so, that should be one laudable addition, particularly for gamers.

Other things to watch out for include, perhaps, addressing previous game bugs with new fixes and more deals, which may include big price-offs for folks who have yet to secure their copy of the game.
