Production for the fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean" film, subtitled "Dead Men Tell No Tales," has already begun and the cast and crew are busy working in Hamilton Island, Australia. Recently, a photo from the set was leaked and it gives fans of the franchise their first look at actor Javier Bardem as the new villain, Captain Salazar. 

Daily Mail reports that the photo was taken in the middle of shooting. It showcases Bardem sitting down conversing with his fellow actors. His face is notably covered in make-up to make him appear like a grey, undead pirate with cracks visible on his cheeks.  

More importantly, however, are the green screen tracking dots placed around the borders of his face. This is a clear indication that there will be some CGI work done on him, similar to how Bill Nighy's Davey Jones was done in previous "Pirates of the Caribbean" films. 

Captain Salazar is described as a pirate whose ship and crew were trapped in the Devil's Triangle aka the Bermuda Triangle, and after he gets free, he and his ghostly crew attempt to kill every pirate on Earth. This would explain the grey, undead look. To stop him, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) must acquire the power of the Trident of Poseidon.

"Dead Men Tell No Tales" also brings back Orlando Bloom as William Turner, last seen in the third film, "At World's End," where he became the new captain of the Flying Dutchman after the defeat of Davey Jones. Since Captain Salazar is technically a dead pirate, it will be Will's duty to ferry him over to the after life. 

According to a report from VCPost, it is also rumored that actor Brenton Thwaites will be on board as Henry Turner, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann's (Keira Knightley) son. This has not been confirmed although at the time of writing, he is listed on the IMDB page as Henry. 

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is set to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
