The formation of a new partnership between Oasis Trust and Equipped to Lead (ETL) to provide strategic leadership training has been announced by UK Christian leaders Steve Chalke and Jeff Lucas.

‘Equipped to Lead’ is aimed to equip, develop and motivate those who are already involved in the church or wider community with leadership roles or those who are considering taking up leadership roles.

The one-year part-time course is designed to cover areas such as identity and calling, servant leadership, empowering others, theology of mission and developing a local outreach strategy. The course includes monthly training days with input from well-respected national Christian leaders and a residential weekend.

“The development of leaders who can enable churches to be increasingly active in bringing hope, to local communities and society as a whole, is a high priority here in the UK,” says Steve Chalke MBE, founder of Oasis Trust.

“Oasis is thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Equipped to Lead in helping to meet this need through the provision of training that is practical, theological and inspirational.”

“Leadership is one of the most important issues in the world,” said Jeff Lucas. “We believe that our partnership with Oasis will help us to resource those who are just beginning as leaders, together with the development of those who are already involved in a wide variety of leadership responsibilities.”

Courses for ‘Equipped to Lead’ will be held at Church.co.uk (Waterloo), Reading and Kirkby-in-Ashfield (near Nottingham).
