The Bible Society of Côte d'Ivoire, with the cooperation and support of the Roman Catholic Church, the United Methodist Church and Harrist Church, has recently released the complete New Testament in Alladian language. The new translation was dedicated during a ceremony on 25th June.

The Alladian speakers had access to only some bits of the Bible in their own language since 1937, but this year, thanks to the collective effort of devoted translators, the work of translating the Word of God was finally completed.

Côte d'Ivoire, with French as its official language, has around 60 dialects, and Alladian is one of them. It is spoken in the villages located along the Ebrie Lagoon and now, with the Word proclaimed in their mother language, it can be brought much closer to their hearts.

The launch ceremony held on 25th June in Jacqueville, the main town in the region, was led by Gabriel Joseph Yacé, the son of the late President of the country's National Assembly Philippe Yacé, who was personally involved in the project as one of the main supporters.

Mr Yacé funded the purchase of 3,000 copies of new Alladian New Testament for local distribution. He expressed his commitment to help to provide whole Bible in Alladian soon.
