More than 2,000 men joined in the Bigger Breakfast at the weekend, an initiative of the Baptist Men's Movement to bring more men to church.

Churches across the country held breakfasts in churches and other venues like pubs and cafes between 9am and 10am on Saturday morning.

Green Lane Baptist Church held its Bigger Breakfast in the Walsall Art Gallery, whilst Bewdley Baptist Church near Kidderminster headed to Snowdonia for its breakfast. Didcot Baptist Church spruced up the event with a remote control car race.

The BMM said it had had overwhelmingly positive feedback from participating churches.

Brixington Community Church said, "The men of the church brought along neighbours, friends and relatives, many of whom had never been in the church before."

Phil Creighton, BMM vice president, said, "We're delighted at the response to the Bigger Breakfast.

"The number of churches taking part has amazed us and the way that they have responded to the challenge of hosting the biggest breakfasts they can has been terrific.

"With the vast majority of churches saying that they will do it again, it's an opportunity we can't miss."

Creighton said the BMM, which seeks to help churches with their men's ministry, would hold the Bigger Breakfast again next October.
