Moneygram, the international money transfer company, has donated £1,000 to the Trinity Baptist Hope Centre, a Christian orphanage for West African children.

The company made the donation during a live interview on Premier Christian radio this week.

"We at Moneygram have a lot of experience supporting community events, with the Ghanaian community in particular. It's part of the core values of the company, about helping the community and giving something back," Regional Director, Mark Perryman told Bridgitte Tetteh on Premier Radio's Drive show.

Moneygram is one of the world's largest money transfer companies, helping people to send money around the world.

Through their connections with the Christian community and Premier Christian Radio, Moneygram heard of the Trinity Baptist Hope Centre and were compelled to give £1,000 to support the project.

Two of Trinity Baptist's senior partners, Pastor Kweku Amosah and Pastor Claude Adjepog came to Premier Christian Radio to receive the generous gift and share news of the orphanage's grand opening.

Premier Drive presenter, Bridgitte Tetteh was keen to hear about the progress of the orphanage after visiting the building site earlier in the year.

Pastor Adjepog told Bridgitte, "The orphanage has been sited at Ghana because of the challenges that people from that area face. Even though the orphanage will be open to other people in the country, there is a high rate of teenage pregnancy and school drop-outs in the immediate area."

As a token of gratitude, Moneygram has now been invited to be official ambassadors of the orphanage.
