'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date news: Live preview at E3 2016

This year's E3 appears to be revealing several promising prospects for eager fans. One of the largest events in gaming will be held in Los Angeles on June 14 to 16. There, big companies will showcase releases, surprises, promos and teasers for the upcoming year's lineup. Polygon speculates on teasers for titles like "Halo," "Gears of War 4," "Ion," "Recore," "Ashen," "Sea of Thieves," "Phantom Dust," and more.

One highly anticipated preview from BioWare is "Mass Effect: Andromeda," which is an upcoming third-person shooter RPG aimed for the Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC platforms. IGN states that BioWare promises to offer players an open-world type of game and a great amount of freedom for this next installment on the "Mass Effect" series, which might be a separate shot from the main storyline while still being part of the franchise. They even mention several leaks from last November that provide game play footage with the player using a jet pack. This is the first of its kind to be built using the Frostbite Engine, which is reportedly on a greater level when it comes to rendering the gaming scenery and environment.

According to Ecumenical News, publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has confirmed the said game's preview at the upcoming E3. They will provide a live gameplay event during that week. Aaryn Flynn, the general manager from BioWare, has confirmed its release for early 2017. They are said to require the right amount of time to make sure that the quality of the game will be up to expectations. Rumors abound on the development of this game, which may or may not include open-world freedom, enemy ambush encounters and a new set of characters.
