London gospel duo Commission will launch their debut EP at north London's Jesus House Church with support from various UK gospel acts, Friday, 26 January.
Consisting of brothers Tope (Icie) and Gabriel (Bless MC), Commission will perform a selection of new tracks and their underground hit "Up 2 U", which drew comparisons to the group's mainstream counterparts the Mitchell Brothers.
The event will be hosted by "Simply Andy" (VOV) and additional performances will come from Marsha Garrick, Dwayne Tryumf, New D Crew, S.O., Roger Samuels, among others.
Recently the brothers have been busy shooting a documentary on their music and the UK gospel underground scene, scheduled to be released on DVD later in the year.
A gospel compilation album featuring the voice talent of some of the most powerful gospel singers in the UK launched last December.
The project, released by gospel production company Rockhill Music, features the likes of Brit Award nominee Rachel McFarlane and Oasis Award-winning artist Natalie Phillips.
The release of Acoustic Gospel Volume One was celebrated with a vivacious gospel performance party hosted by Premier Radio presenter Muyiwa at the Motion Bar in London.
A search for talented artists will proceed in 2007 for Acoustic Gospel Volume 2.
