Live worship from PASSION

More than 40,000 college students gathered at Atlanta's Georgia Dome for this year's PASSION conference and their voices provide the backing for an epic live recording from the event due for release next month.

Chris Tomlin, David Crowder* Band, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman, Christy Nockels and Kristian Stanfill lend their vocals to songs like "Jesus, My All in All" and "Lay Me Down", "Yahweh" and "10,000 Reasons".

PASSION: White Flag is out from the ministry's own label, sixstepsrecords, on March 13.

The first single release, performed by Chris Tomlin, is original song "White Flag".

Since the first release in 1998, Passion projects have sold more than 1.8 million albums and introduced worship songs that have gone on to be firm favourites in the global church, like “Better Is One Day”, “How Great Is Our God”, “God Of This City”, “Holy Is The Lord”, “Waiting Here For You,” and “Our God”.

Students from some 31 countries and more than 1,700 campuses took part in the latest PASSION event, which was even recently commended by President Barack Obama in his speech at the Presidential Prayer Breakfast.

In addition to offering top notch worship, the conference educated students about the horrific reality of modern day slaving affecting 27 million people around the world, be it as forced labourers, child labourers or those trapped in the sex trade.

Students generously pledged $3.3 million to support more than 20 projects working on prevention, as well as the rescue and restoration of the millions of men, women and children trapped in modern day slavery.

Delegates were asked to bring a new towel and pair of socks to the conference with them. This allowed more than 36,000 towels and 150,000 socks to be donated to homeless shelters in the city of Atlanta, stocking them up for more than a year.

The four-day gathering also featured teaching from Louie Giglio, John Piper, Francis Chan, and Beth Moore.
