LG G5 specs, features, and release date rumors

LG fans will be happy to know that the company has yet to introduce another device that belongs to the LG G series.

The next phone, LG G5 will be making its way to shelves sooner and according to a report from Know Your Mobile, the phone might arrive in the first quarter of 2016.

According to speculations, the LG G5 will feature a 5.6-inch HD display with a 3840 x 2160 resolution. The phone is also said to have a flexible touchscreen and with the resolution that it bears, it is expected that the G5 will belong to the premium category.

On the inside, rumors suggest that the G5 will carry an octa-core Snapdragon 820 processor with a speed of 2.2 to 3GHz, together with 3–5 GB RAM. There will be storage options of 32, 64 and 128GB.

As for the camera, various rumors suggest that the main camera will have a 20-megapixel sensor and the front or selfie shooter will be at 10 megapixels.

What makes the LG G5 standout is its iris scanner, which reportedly comes with the front camera. The technology can contribute to the security of the device as it can only be unlocked when the user stares at the scanner.

When it comes to connectivity, there's nothing fresh about the G5. Rumors suggest that the phone will be compatible with 4G, near field communication (NFC), and Bluetooth 4.0; it will also supports Wi-Fi connectivity.

As for the pricing, there has been no details leaked, but it is assumed that the G5 will not come out cheap. Know Your Mobile reported that some rumors suggest a $900 pricing for the flagship device.

Aside from the specs and features speculations, rumor also has it that the announcement for G5's release will be made sometime this month.

However, all the information circulating online are based on speculations and rumors, so they should be taken with a grain of salt until LG confirms the news.
