A lot of fans are still waiting for the next "Left 4 Dead" game, but now various reports on "Left 4 Dead 3" have surfaced, saying that this zombie apocalypse FPS game will have its release by 2017.

According to the Express UK back in January, Valve has been working to make this game a reality and is thinking of an early 2017 launch date. If this turns out to be the truth, it will have been 8 years ever since its predecessor, "Left 4 Dead 2," was released.

However, the Day Herald reports that the founder of Turtle Rock Studios, Phil Robb, said that they won't be handling the game anymore. He reportedly even went so far as to say that they've already gone in their own direction, and that the "Left 4 Dead" titles are now Valve's alone. These are just allegations, though, and even up to this day the truth is still to be found.

Amidst the rumors, Valve still refuses to give any sort of statement about it. This gave rise to even more rumors, with some even saying that "Half-Life 3," another highly anticipated title, has been delayed in order to pave the way for "Left 4 Dead 3" development.

An article from Mobile & Apps gives further speculations on the game's content. It points out that various online sources give details on the game's alleged campaigns, characters and other features. The game is rumored to feature, as always, a four-person theme composed of three men and one woman. They're even rumored to have names and personalities already: Irvin is a gangster, Keenan is a nerd, and Garret Jr. is a Kenpo fighter. As for the female character, she's only known as Katherine, but her background has not been specified just yet.

In any case, the first two "Left 4 Dead" games can now be played on the Xbox One, as announced during the E3 2016 conference along with other games.
