Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole new album 2016: At least one song by rappers exists already

Rappers Kendrick Lamar and Jermaine Cole have long been rumored to produce a collaboration album for some time, with a recent report pointing to an alleged February release, based on a statement from Lamar's sister. However, according to Vine Report, a song featuring the two artists already exists.

According to the report, fans have been speculating whether the new album will be released secretly and without much press, similar to how Lamar just recently launched the album "untitled unmastered" via Spotify. The album was simply uploaded without any media coverage to immediately inform fans that there was new material to be heard.

For an album to come out, there should already be tracks recorded, and the report points out that Washington D.C. producer Oddisee has confirmed the two rappers have already worked on at least one track together. Oddisee also stated that the track was recorded as far back as 2012.

"Everybody keeps talking about that record," he is quoted. "They're doing fine without that record. I'm doing fine. It does exist."

Oddisee then states that Cole intended to use the song for one of his albums but then opted out, preferring to record the song again in-house. This meant that the version of the song may already be out but is now a version made and recorded specifically for J. Cole and not the one produced outside his recording studio featuring Kendrick Lamar.

A previous report also points out that if the album does not launch by this month, it is possible that it will be delayed to a summer release due to the artists' upcoming summer tour. The tour's schedule will prevent the artists from having enough free time to collaborate in the studio, indicating that the duo must be working together right now for anything to launch within the next few weeks.
