Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Schumer writing film together

In an episode of "The Daily Show," actress Amy Schumer detailed her vacation with "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence, and one of the things that might come out of the short stay is a film collaboration.

Lawrence, meanwhile, said in an interview with the New York Times that they will write and star in a film together.

"We play sisters," Lawrence told the publication. "We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We've got about 100 pages right now."

According to the report, their friendship really flourished when Lawrence emailed Schumer after seeing "Trainwreck." The two began texting each other and eventually began collaborating on a film. Lawrence also explained that they are "creatively made for each other" as they offer different "flavors."

Lawrence stated that she headed to Chicago to see Schumer and continued working on their collaboration. She also confirmed that they are working alongside Schumer's sister, Kim Caramele, who helped the latter in penning the script for "Trainwreck."

"Trainwreck" is Schumer's first official film project, but the actress has a well-respected body of credentials due to her work as a writer and comedian for her standup comedy performances and her "Inside Amy Schumer" series for Comedy Central.

Schumer is also reportedly working on a separate project with her sister, but it is likely that the film with Lawrence will be given priority due to its cast. According to a report from Collider, no director has been officially attached to the project but Jonathan Levine, who directed "50/50" and "Warm Bodies" was offered to helm the project.

Lawrence, on the other hand, has recently finished shooting for "X-Men: Apocalypse" and is currently scheduled to begin production alongside Chris Pratt for the sci-fi/ romance flick "Passengers." She will appear in theaters this November as Katniss Everdeen in the final installment in the "Hunger Games" franchise.
