'GTA 5' for PC pre-loading starts now

 Official Rockstar website

PC players who pre-ordered "GTA V" from either Rockstar or Steam can pre-load the game starting today, which is one week before it officially becomes playable. Gamers are advised to download the game early as it will take more than a whole day to actually complete the download and installation process.

Pre-loading the game ahead of time will also regulate the load on the servers so playing "GTA V" upon launch will entail no stress whatsoever. Unfortunately, Rockstar did not announce a timeframe for the pre-load but it is scheduled to commence today.

For those who pre-ordered a copy of "GTA V" from a retailer other than Steam or Rockstar, the game studio advises buyers to contact the customer service department of the store so they can apprise gamers of the instructions about the pre-loading process.

The PC version of the open-world action-adventure video game will run in 1080p at 60 frames per second, which means that the title will be enormous in terms of detail and most importantly, size. Thus it is important to prep up the computer for a time-consuming download because "GTA V" will take 65 GB of space. With the game that massive, a clean-up is a must in order to have room for the game.

When it comes to system requirements, PCs should have the following so "GTA V" would run flawlessly:

Minimum specifications:

  • OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)
