Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao fight 2 news: 'We want a rematch' – Freddie Roach

Floyd Mayweather Jr. came out victorious and somehow, Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach has no qualms about that.

Roach is not batting that Pacquiao should have won but was pretty much disturbed at why his boy didn't win some rounds that led to the unanimous victory decision.

Pacquiao, despite reportedly fighting with an injured right shoulder, did make a good account of himself. He caught Mayweather offguard several times in the middle rounds but still went down to lose in a supposedly one-sided manner. Roach disagrees at how the judges scored it.

Apparently Roach and a lot of people feel that the outcome should have been closer. The fight was not as lopsided as the scorecards showed and such has caught the ire of boxing fans who are saying that boxing has become more of an entertainment niche rather than a competitive sport.

Mayweather never went on the aggressive despite claiming he would. Many of course weren't surprised given that Mayweather had more to lose had he lost. Aside from the belts, Mayweather is protecting his undefeated streak as he tried to at least equalize Rocky Marciano's 49-0 record. Mayweather could achieve that by September if plans to fight this September materialize. The opponent has yet to be named.

For Roach, it should be Pacquiao. He believes that Manny deserves a rematch.

However that intent could very well be flushed down the toilet as Pacquiao will need to undergo surgery to fix his injured shoulder. It may take some time before Pacquiao can return to active boxing, not to mention that the Nevada Athletic Commission may be fining and sanctioning Pacquiao for not revealing he had an injury before his face-off with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The good news is that Mayweather seems to be open to a rematch despite earlier stating that there will not be one. Was Mayweather disturbed by the feedback of the mega fight's outcome? Or did he say it because he knows Pacquiao would need to recuperate and will most likely be lesser of a threat?

On the rematch intentions, it remains to be seen if such would happen. Better yet, it remains to be seen if fans would be interested in seeing another hugging and running match starring Floyd Mayweather Jr.
