Church Army has offered its support for Hope 2008, a major evangelistic initiative to encourage local churches and Christian charities to work together to create a lasting legacy of both physical and spiritual change in the lives of communities and individuals.
Joining Hope 2008 as a partner, Church Army believes that the initiative's work will highlight the importance of communicating the gospel through words and actions.

Last October, thousands of Christians gathered together at the NEC in Birmingham to launch the initiative.
The organisers say that Hope 2008 will serve as a catalyst, building on the resources available from its partners to enable local churches to better serve and reach their local communities.
Over a three year period, churches will have the opportunity to engage with public sector organisations such as the police and local government to tackle different issues ranging from homelessness and debt dependency to alcohol and drug abuse.
