Christian leaders are advising people to use their vote to defeat British National Party (BNP) candidates in next week's elections, the Evangelical Alliance has told Christian Today.

They are encouraging people to use their vote so that other candidates are elected, and the BNP does not get seats through voter apathy.

"The BNP is trying to present itself as a respectable and non-racist party," an Evangelical Alliance statement comments.

Party leader Nick Griffin said in a speech last November that he wants this country to be "free, Christian and British."

But Christian leaders are urging voters not to be fooled by the BNP's attempts to make itself presentable.

Justin Thacker, Head of Public Theology at the Evangelical Alliance, said: "I don't see how any Christian could ever support the BNP - its principles are entirely at odds with those of Jesus Christ.

"The BNP is a racist party, which doesn't seem to realise the contradiction of using St George's day - which celebrates a Christian saint - to peddle its racist propaganda. This demonstrates just what a sham the party's appeal to Christian values is.

"Other parties are just as concerned about the needs of the nation, and they do not use issues of community cohesion for racist ends."

Rev Katei Kirby, Chief Executive of the African and Caribbean Evangelical Alliance, said: "The BNP may present its election message as 'Christian', but as it is based on the divisive and racist agenda inherent to that party, it is clearly out of step with the message of freedom and belonging that is central to the Christian faith.

"To halt the progress of these misleading messages and the parties that purport them, I urge Christians and those in wider society to exercise their right and vote against such parties in their local elections."

Neil Jameson, of London Citizens, said: "London Citizens fully supports the position taken by the Evangelical Alliance.

"It is our experience of 10 years of organising in East London that it's quite possible to work together for the common good across diversity without ever having to appeal to the racist card, which is played so obviously by the BNP in some of our most disadvantaged communities."

The BNP hates Christianity.

John Tyndall, the BNP's founder and leader, in his September 2003 article, 'Some Definitions: A sample from the 'Politically Aware Vocabulary' series', wrote:

"What passes for Christianity in this country today can only be described as superstitious sociology; a bland doctrine of welfare-mongering with guilt, humility and self-abasement as its cardinal principles. We can only have contempt for a Church which, in the name of Christianity, facilitates the Islamic occupation of whole neighbourhoods, condones homosexuality, promotes multi-racialism and will forgive everything.

Our race is our religion, and the nation is our church".

Most recently, Lee Barnes, the BNP's legal officer, in his article, 'The Werewolf Complex'(5 February 2008), called Christianity an "alien religion" forced upon Britain and blames Christianity for both the World Wars, communism and consumerism! This is what Lee Barnes says about Christianity in the said article:

"Whilst Christianity has seen its own traditions of violence from the Warrior Knight Tradition, the Crusades, The Inquisition, Two World Wars and also spawned Fascism, Communism and Consumerism"

"The idea that the basis of violence is such a fragile Norse meme is absurd, and ignores the reality of the violence inherent in the Judeo-Christian traditions of Judaism, Christianity"

"To deny the theological and actual historical violence of the Semitic religions as a factor in the violence of Western Society is simply logically unsustainable, especially when Christianity dominates the culture of the West."

"I, along with Rudgeley, assert that it is the centuries long brutal surpression of our ancestral cultures that have been repressed by Christianity and liberalism, that have caused the organic and spiritual crisis in Western Man and that it today springs forth as violence."

"Nearly a thousand years of the Judeo-Christian extirpation of the indigenous pagan religious traditions of Europe, and the attempt to impose an alien religion with its alien archetypes, has created the spiritual, social and cultural crisis in Western Man."

In another article, Cultural review of the Year (28 November 2007), BNP Legal Officier Lee Barnes states that:

"The teachings of the Biblical jesus and the Biblical christ are a mixture of truth and deliberate falsehoods brought together in order to create and empower the church."

In the same article BNP legal officer Barnes then claims that:

"The Bible is a political book constructed by Christians in the Roman Church from the time of Constantine to when Theodosius made it the state religion of Rome, and the allegories it contains were put in the Bible to support its own power and influence in the Holy Roman Empire. It is not the story of Christos."

"The Church uses an allegorical astro-theological story for the life of christ because the christ the Church worships is not the true Christos of history or the Gnostic gospels. The christ of the Church is a creation of the church designed to serve the interests of the church and the demiurge Jehovah that the church worships, and therefore the christ of the church is a false christ who worships a false god according to the Gnostic texts."

"There are fundamental differences between the manufactured christ of the Bible who is a creation of the Church, and the life and teachings of the Christos who actually lived. The former serves the Church and the demiurge Jehovah, whilst the latter serves the Spirit and the God of Amor who was Abba."

Finally, Lee Barnes, posting under the name 'Vader', stated on the neo-nazi Stormfront forum in April 2003:

"The church is a nest of faggots and apostates.

They use Christ to promote an agenda of communism.

The Christian Church has become a homosexual death cult infiltrated by pederasts.

Truly we are in the Age of Ulro ( Willam Blake ) and the Kali Yuga ( savitri Devi)".

I believe this exposes the BNP's true stance on Christianity.

Defeat the BNP? How will your religion fare in this country when britispeople have been outnumbered by foreigners, or hadn't that crossed your minds? Muslims will conquer. Stop being anti-British.

I will be voting the BNP in the general elections, the Islamic State that is taking root in the UK is a bigger threat then the BNP.

I'm sick of the media lies about the BNP. I don't support them but I WILL be voting for them as a protest against the prejudiced media. The BNP are NOT anti-Jewish. They have Jewish members and councillors and their council group leader in Epping Forest is Jewish. They do not have a policy of kicking non-whites out of the country either. Go and look on their website. The racist National Front boast that they are the only party who would kick out blacks, UNLIKE THE BNP. Let's have a debate based on the BNP's real policies.

When the Moderator of the Church of Scotland condemned Israel for defending Herself and praised Hezbollah for hiding rockets in hospitals in the recent conflict I was saddened at his partisan approach and told him so in writing.

He never replied and I now worship at another Church.

This is the latest slap in the teeth to white Christians in their own land by the churches they have in many cases grown up in.

Wow! Correct me if I am wrong but do you not have political parties in Britain that support homosexuality? Do you not have parties that applaud a women's right to destroy her own unborn child? Do you not have political parties that support everything the Christian religion once stood for? Now that being said I find it odd that these so-called religious leaders single out the BNP for a lack of VALUES. The real motive of these soothsayers is to condemn the BNP based solely on the fact that the BNP stands up for the one group that seems to lack any real political representation. That group being the middle, and lower middle class indigenous British people.
Whenever mainstream religion, the media, and nearly all public spokesmen repeat the same drivel one must become very concerned as to why all parties focus on attacking the BNP. This tells me that they know that the BNP is the only party that is for real. A wise man once said that there is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come. Not to bring religion into the discussion because I fall far short of being a prophet of any sort. However it was press releases such as this that convinced me to convert to Christian Orthodox 6 years ago. Go BMP, and may the King Jesus Christ pave your road to victory.

Well done the Church for standing up against these bullies. No one should be fooled by these so-called pro-Christian BNP leaders. Even reading the comments of their supporters in this board are shocking and reveals their true light. I hope that true Christians everywhere will stand up and speak out against this wolf in sheep's clothing.

I am a Christian, and I will be voting BNP in the May elections. They are the only mainstream political party in the UK that is defending the Christian religion and values. Those 'leading figures' in the Christan Church should be ashamed of themselves for critisising the BNP.

I for one will not be voting BNP, and will be urging as many others to vote any which way but BNP. Although contradicting Christian values can be seen in just about every party, the BNP's stances on many issues goes openly against good-willed and loving people. All mankind is God's creation! Shame on the BNP for its hatred towards those different to them.

Might I suggest the our so called Christian leaders lay off a bit. British people in matters of choice don't like to be bullied into their hard one freedom to choose in an election, one of those bonuses when living in a democracy dont you know and could quite likely give you a bloody nose and do precisely what they are being urged not to.

Unlike persons from third world/arab/african/communist countries we are quite capable of making an informed choice and do not need to pushed in a certain directions whether by Christian, Jewish or Islamic leaders. If you are so concerned put your money where your mouth is and stand yourselves, otherwise do what you're being paid to do and stick to matters of religion, which has nothing to do with politics in Britain

It just goes to show that it's not just politicians who are woefully out of touch with the common man.

What then is "racism?" it is considerably more than any dictionary is likely to say, it is any opposition by whites to official policies of racial preference for non-whites. It is any preference by whites for their own people and culture. It is any resistance by whites to the idea of becoming a minority people. It is any unwillingness to be pushed aside. It is, in short, any of the normal aspirations of the people-hood that have defined nations since the beginning of history - but only so long as the aspirations are those of whites.

The church should stop condemning the BNP, which indecently ,is a perfectly legal and democratic registered political party, with elected representatives thoroughout England, and soon the whole of Britain.

Obviously church personnel do not appreciate the good work that BNP councillors do for their local communities, Surely the church should be concentrating on how to re- build those fine and elegant churches that were built by our proud British God fearing ancestors: and follow the lead.of such noble and proud men.

Churches that may one day with the help of the BNP may once again flourish, and be filled with the congregations of folk which have deserted them, due to the very people that today condeme the good men and woman of the British National Party,

At last the futures looking bright, the futures looking BNP mabe someone from the church would like to comment on my article.

I am disgusted at this disgraceful article - supposedly by so-called Christians. I would suggest that their views are more tempered by their ethnic origins than by our religion. How dare these people, foreigners in the main, astigate a legal and increasingly popular British political party as "racist". I would suggest that far more British Christians support the pro-Christian British National Party than support this small group of unrepresntative bigots.
