Visitors to a Holy Week and Easter web page are being offered the chance to 'virtually' hand over their fears and emotional burdens to Jesus Christ.

'The Passion' web page, developed by a national Catholic agency, offers visitors a safe space where they can anonymously type in their fears, worries and concerns and say a prayer.

It is the brainchild of the Catholic Enquiry Office, which is under the direction of CASE, an agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.

CASE Director, Mgr Keith Barltrop says that the concept provides an opportunity for people to discover the deep spiritual fruits of the season.

"In Holy Week Catholics commemorate the sufferings of Jesus, who took on himself our burdens and sufferings, and brought us back to our true home in God. We invite you to join us!"

He added, "You don’t have to be a Catholic to take part in these moving celebrations. If you're not ready for that, try our virtual resource, and discover for yourself the beauty and power of Easter."

The web page can be found at www.life4seekers.co.uk/the-passion/ and offers visitors the chance to enter a competition, watch exclusive video stories, pose spiritual and faith questions to 'Father', read 'The Passion' story from the Scriptures, view a powerpoint on the theme of whether or not Jesus was 'Mad, Bad or God?', and fill in a motivations' questionnaire.

Mgr Barltrop added: “Although there is no substitute for that face-to-face meeting with God in the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession), through which we receive God's unconditional love and forgiveness, perhaps this resource can give you a foretaste of the joy you feel when you lay down your burdens at God’s feet and see Him smiling at you full of love.”

Visitors to the page are also being offered two additional free resources: a book titled 'A Guide To The Passion: 100 Questions About The Passion Of The Christ' and a leaflet about Holy Week and Easter.
