Candace Cameron Bure criticised for 'sexy' 'Fuller House' Instagram photo: 'I thought she stands for Christian values'

Fans got terribly upset after seeing Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure (rightmost) wearing such a skimpy black dress for the show 'Fuller House.'(Instagram/Candace Cameron Bure)

"The View" host and "Fuller House" star Candace Cameron, known for her strong Christian values, received criticism recently for wearing a skimpy outfit in one of the show's episodes.

On her Instagram account (@candacecbure), the actress posted a photo with her co-stars Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin. Among the three women, Bure had on the most revealing dress. It was so short that one fan even commented that Bure's black dress looked like "lingerie."

"I thought she stands for Christian values," a disappointed fan wrote.

"Seriously though! I am so sad! I thought @Candacecbure stands up for Christian values?!?! This makes me so sad. I can't let my kids watch this, is this how you dress?" another commented.

Instead of answering back her bashers, Bure decided that the best thing to do was to take down the controversial photo.

Bure actually wore the dress to portray her character DeeJ for "Fuller House." In the promotional clip, DeeJ felt so uncomfortable wearing the dress that she said, "I don't know if I should be tugging this thing down, or pulling it up."

This was not the first time that Bure was criticised for her clothing choices. Defending herself, Bure wrote a blog post back in 2014 narrating the challenges of being a Christian in Hollywood.

"'I'm too religious, I'm not Godly enough, I'm too thin now, I'm not very humble, I've had too much plastic surgery, My brother Kirk is a better Christian than me, I'm too worldly, I'm too conservative, I'm not modest enough, I'm a show-off.' Those are just a few of the types of comments I get no matter what I share, what photo I post or what I say," she said.
