Pop-up advertisements can be annoying at times when browsing the web, but with ad-blocking tools, web browsing becomes a much better experience.

For iOS users, it is definitely good news now that the world's leading ad-blocking app, Adblock Plus, has arrived to iOS, Adblock Plus' Wednesday announcement stated.

Apple's new iOS 9 now allows users to get the ad-blocking tool to be installed within Safari. With just a few adjustments to the settings, browsing on the Safari app will now be more convenient and less annoying.

Since the release of iOS 9, ad-blocking apps have become one of the most popular downloads from the App Store. It only shows how iPhone users increasingly want to experience ad-free browsing that they would even shell out money just to have them.

But Adblock Plus is now available and downloadable for free via the App Store.

Running the tool is simple: just install Adblock Plus on the device. Once the app opens, instructions will be provided on how to activate the tool for the iOS device.

Once tool is activated, iOS users can start surfing through Safari without having to deal with advertisements and pop-ups.

There are more than 50 million active users of the well-received Adblock Plus, but it's usually mistaken for another app called Adblock Browser.

Eyeo GmbH, parent company of both apps, launched Adblock Browser earlier in September. The tool is a standalone browser that has a built-in ad-blocking app, while Adblock Plus can be used to run on Safari, noted VentureBeat.

Installing Adblock Plus can help load web pages faster, improve battery life, and protect against malicious ads that can harm a user's device.

While phone users are happy about the existence of such app, the same thing cannot be said by publishers, since ads are their sources of online revenue.

A report from TechWeek Europe stated that online publishers may lose over $21 billion of their revenue from ads this year due to the rise in popularity of ad-blocking tools.
