The Ford Bronco was decommissioned for two decades but Ford is reported to be bringing it back with the upcoming 2016 Ford Bronco. The vehicle has been rumored since 2014 but according to a recent report from Yibada, it is possible that an official release date will be announced at the 2016 Detroit Car Show.

According to the report, current speculations have it that the price for the new Ford Bronco will be between $24,000 and $31,000 depending on trim and accessories installed. This puts it on even grounds with its competitor, the Nissan Xterra.

However, Ford has yet to confirm if this price range is accurate given that the Ford Bronco can sport a powerful V8 engine. The release date is also uncertain as the company has yet to release any official announcement, although it is expected to hit dealer lots by the second half of next year.

First reported by CarsConcept2016, the 2016 Ford Bronco will sport a 5.0 liter Coyote V8 engine with muscle strength of 420 horsepower. However, drivers can also opt to switch to a 4.9-liter Powerstroke diesel V6 engine boasting 330 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque. There is also the option for a 5.8-liter supercharged V8 engine. Generating 662 horsepower and 631 lb.-ft. of torque, the latter is the most powerful model of the 2016 Ford Bronco SUV.

Ford has yet to give any official information about the vehicle's transmission but rumors insist that it may feature a choice of either a 6R140 6-speed automatic or a ZF 6-speed manual transmission.

The report also showcases concept photos of what the vehicle will look inside and out. The photos reveal that the 2016 Ford Bronco will retain the rugged look of its predecessors (1966 to 1996) while updating the aesthetics with a touchscreen display and other modern utilities such as power-adjustable seats.
