Nintendo has released a new music video for the song "Shadow of the Lowlands," which is part of the soundtrack of upcoming role-playing game "XenoBlade Chronicles 2."

The song was composed by Maestro Yasunori Mitsuda and performed by Irish choral ensemble Anuna. The music video showed the ensemble singing in a picturesque meadow, which perfectly reflects the beauty of the musical piece.

In the game, the "Shadow of the Lowlands" plays as the player walks around the kingdom of Tantal. This will surely give players chills as their senses are filled with both the delightful music of the song and the epic visuals of the game.

While "Shadow of the Lowlands" sounds grand and epic, it is only one piece of the much awaited soundtrack for the game. According to Mitsuda, the soundtrack has such a large scope that it involves over 300 musicians and over 20,000 music manuscripts. The acclaimed composer also added that he may not get a bigger project than the "XenoBlade Chronicles 2" soundtrack in his lifetime.

Mitsuda published an account of his experience in creating the soundtrack on Nintendo's website. "Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was the biggest and most challenging project I have ever worked on," said maestro Mitsuda, who aside from being the composer, also performed several other duties for the soundtrack. The talented composer was also the coordinator in the recording sessions as well as the sound director and the producer.

Aside of the Irish chorale ensemble, Mitsuda also selected many other musicians from all over the world. He noted that the soundtrack included works by a vocalist from England, a chorus from Slovakia, and an orchestra from Japan.

"XenoBlade Chronicles 2" will feature an original story that centers on the adventures of scavengers Rex and Pyra, and a living weapon called Blade. The game will be released for the Nintendo Switch on Dec. 1.
