A sequel to the free-to-play puzzle game "We Were Here" recently came out on Feb. 2. Titled "We Were Here Too," the game follows the same concept as that of the original — throwing two players into an extremely large castle and requiring them to work together in order to escape.

Similar to the prequel, the game requires two players, separate computers and a working microphone. Unlike most cooperative games "We Were Here Too" does not allow the players to meet up or see what the other is up to via split screen. Instead, players will know nothing about their partner's whereabouts and will be unable to see anything that is going on in their partner's side of the castle.

Despite players being separated and unable to see each other, "We Were Here Too" is — at its core — a game reliant on teamwork. In order to escape players must coordinate their actions and guide one another via voice chat. The game relies heavily on communication, and partner's describing their environment or current predicament to one another in a vivid way.

In the prequel titled "We Were Here" one player took the role of a librarian, while the other took on the role of an explorer. To play the game, the librarian must guide the explorer throughout dungeons, while the explorer must describe the current surroundings and objectives to the librarian. Both roles have different functions, but both needed one another to escape their current situation.

"We Were Here Too" follows a similar scenario.

According to Steam, the game will feature asymmetrical roles, with each one playing a key part in escaping the castle. Each role will follow its own unique storyline, but players will need to pay attention to both in order to uncover the secrets and the dark history of the castle.

"We Were Here Too" is currently available for purchase on Steam, and the official synopsis of the game states:

"As your final hour approaches, a large structure looms up in the distance, towering above the relentless storm. Discover the truth behind this dark castle in a communication-based, cooperative puzzle adventure."
