After the extended season for "Vikings" season 4 was announced and its premiere date pinned, the good news just keeps rolling in. An official synopsis has now been released, and it promises to be one heck of a season filled with battles, death, power struggles.

There have been a lot of speculations and talks about the plot for "Vikings" season 4 and now that the History Channel show has gotten a roundup, fans can now find out which are actually going to happen. On top of this, loyal viewers are over the moon that they get 10 more episodes in the upcoming season.

According to TV Fanatic and as already been speculated before, the fourth season is going to pick up right fom the ending of season 3. The season is opening with the repercussions of Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) near-death, especially on wife Queen Asalug (Alyssa Sutherland) and eldest son with Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig). Lagertha, Kalf (Ben Robson), Rollo (Clive Standen), and Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) have their own stories to unfold.

"Meanwhile, Lagertha continues power struggles with her calculating, former second in command, Kalf; Rollo betrays his Vikings heritage by remaining in Frankia and Floki is seized for his brutal actions to the Christian priest Athelstan," the official synopsis stated.

A trailer which was released by the network on YouTube last July showed Ragnar finally finding out Floki's part on Athelstan's death. It is the legendary King of Denmark who will ask for his friend's punishment.

The trailer also showcases how Aslaug deals with her desire to take over the power. Ragnar's second wife seeks answers about her future as Kattegat's woman ruler through the Wanderer.

All these old characters are going to be joined by a potential threat (Peter Franzén as King Harold), his young brother (Jasper Pääkkönen as Halfdan The Black), and a fascinating female character (Dianne Doan as Yidu).

Watch "Vikings" season 4 when it comes back with a new 20-episode split season on Feb. 18.
