'Vampire Diaries' season 6 spoilers - Damon and Elena share their moments during Jo and Alaric's wedding in episode 20

Fansof "The Vampire Diaries" will be in for a nice breather as episode 20, "I'd Leave My Happy Home for You," will instead focus on the lighter things in life. The official synopsis indicates the episode will primarily focus on Jo and Alaric prior to their wedding but it also will give time for Damon and Elena to contemplate about their future.

According to the official synopsis, Alaric and Jo will reluctantly take part in their bachelor parties. Alaric is said to consider a "life-changing piece of advice." However, official photos released by the CW have shown the two sharing their moment down the aisle so whatever trouble they go through the night before may be resolved before the episode is over.

Damon and Elena, however, get to spend most of the episode discussing their future together. Damon will confront Elena with an "impulsive offer" and they discuss how it may affect the rest of their lives. Most fans have concluded that this offer is the cure to their vampirism.

The synopsis states that Elena will turn to Jo and Bonnie for advice but Bonnie gives some alerting concerns that only confuses Elena even more. Given that actress Nina Dobrev is departing from the show after this season, it is likely that she will accept the cure while Damon and Stefan continue as creatures of the night.

On the other end, Enzo will be turning to Stefan for help when he realizes that Lily is dangerously spiraling downward with her life and choices while Matt finally takes out his frustrations on Tyler.

There won't be creatures for Elena, Stefan, and Damon to fight but this episode may be the best yet as it focuses entirely on the inner struggles of each character. This episode will showcase how far the characters have gone and where they will go in future seasons. The repercussions of these decisions will be felt in the season's last two episodes.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 episode 20 will air on April 30 on the CW.
