'Transformers 5' villain, news: Onslaught confirmed as main villain

Production for "Transformers: The Last Knight" is currently underway, with Michael Bay back in the director's seat, but very little is known about the film. As a little teaser for the fans, Bay has released an image via Twitter showcasing the film's main villain, which turns out to be Onslaught, a popular Decepticon from the original cartoon.

As stated in a report from Screen Rant, Onslaught appeared in the very first season of the classic "Transformers: The Animated Series" from the 1980s and was the leader of the Combaticons. As a group they were very loyal to the main Decepticon leader, Megatron.

It is further revealed that Onslaught preferred to carefully strategize and plan ahead instead of simply rushing forward into a firefight. When his carefully laid-out plans end up failing, however, he goes on a violent rampage that can be very dangerous for the main heroes although it also makes him reckless.

Together with the Combaticons he can also form into a much larger Transformer known as Bruticus. It is undetermined at this point if the rest of the Combaticons will be making an appearance and if they will be combining to form Bruticus in the film.

Screen Rant also points out that the film appears to be melding elements from the original trilogy and the fourth film, "Transformers: Age of Extinction," by mixing the newer characters with the old. Mark Wahlberg has been confirmed to return as Cade Yager while the original trilogy's Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson are returning as Colonel Lennox and Sargeant Robert Epps respectively.

The film will see Optimus Prime travel to Cybertron where he discovers something amiss while the rest of the Transformers and human characters get into a battle back on Earth. It is yet undetermined how Onslaught will play into the film's story and how he connects to Megatron.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" opens in theaters on June 23, 2017.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
