'Transformers 5' movie plot spoilers, cast: 'G.I. Joe' crossover possible; Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf's return?

News about the crossover between "Transformers 5" and "G.I. Joe" are still on the rise. Paramount Pictures

Speculations that a crossover between "Transformers 5" and "G.I. Joe" appear to hold some water as more and more reports assert of the possible fusion between the two films.

Enstarz posits that the merging of the two toy franchises may really be on the works as the people behind the success of the hit action film are already working on multiple sequels and prequels. It appears that the production team is bent on "pushing the envelope" and exploring "all kinds of possibilities" to produce a movie to impress both the audience and the critics, something that a crossover with Dwayne Johnson's blockbuster can achieve.

Meanwhile, reports suggesting that veteran actor Bruce Willis is also set to join "Transformers 5" are still raging. Cinema Blend claims that Johnson and Willis could be joining Optimus Prime and his crew in their fight against the Decepticons. In February, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura already shut down the said possibility, saying that the concept was "not a realistic proposition" as of the moment.

"I don't think it's in the near future at all. It's not something we talk about either. There's a lot more story to be told in both cases. And I think if at some moment we think, 'You know what? It's time to bring the two of them together, we'll do that. But I think they're strong enough to exist on their own," he said.

While Mark Wahlberg has already confirmed that he is set to return to "Transformers 5" and "a couple more" sequels, rumors that Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox could be returning to the franchise are also surfacing. According to Classicalite, Fox was game with the idea if Shia was also okay with the comeback.

The actor said, however, that he was not sure Fox would be able to reprise her role, as her character was already written off in the third film. He also said that while he would do another Michael Bay film, it would not be "Transformers."

"It would be good to do another film but I doubt with the new changes since the third film that Megan could return you know, it might be a love war if me or Rosie both return you know its not that I don't think about it. But no, I highly doubt I'll be back for another one," LaBeouf said.

"Transformers 5" is slated to be released in July 2017.
