A New York man has died after he decapitated himself in a horrific RV helicopter stunt gone wrong at a park in Brooklyn.

Roman Pirozek Jr, 19, who was an avid RC helicopter fan, reportedly lost control of his remote-control device, while pulling a daring stunt. The helicopter then flew into his head, immediately slicing off pieces of his skull and slashing his throat. His own father had watched in horror as the accident unfolded.

Pirozek was dead when police arrived at the scene involving the high-end RV model helicopter, which costs $1,500 and weighs 6 pounds. The device has a blade span o 62 inches and a rotor that spins at over 2,000rpm.

The victim was "known to be aggressive in his flying and often executed tricks," an official told the Wall Street Journal. "He was executing a trick when he was struck."

The tragic accident took place today at 3.30 p.m. at Calvert Vaux Park, near Shore Parkway and Bay 44th Street in the Gravesend neighborhood in Brooklyn.

Just a month ago, Pirozek posted a video of himself flying the RV helicopter and performing tricks.

Pirozek was vice-president of a local helicopter flying hobby club, the Seaview Rotary Wings.

His sister Amy told WSJ: "He was the best person ever. He had the biggest heart. I think he was just doing it because it was his day off. He always protected me. He was a good brother. I'll never forget that."

Helicopter enthusiasts regularly visit Calvert Vaux Park to fly their devices. Three or four others were in the vicinity when the accident occurred.

The aircraft fell from the sky and slashed the victim in the head and the throat as it made its way down, according to police.
