In a little more than a week, "Total War: Warhammer's" biggest expansion pack thus far, Realm of the Wood Elves, will be arriving. The new content brings Durthu to the forefront with a new personality entirely different from his old persona.

As it turns out, the known benevolent preacher and healer took a different turn causing him to drastically change after succumbing to an abiding madness. He no longer propagates by teaching and instead has taken up a sword himself and has become a destroyer. It is still unknown how this came to be and it is expected that more specifics will be coming alongside the downloadable content.

A Facebook post promotes the upcoming add-on with a promotional clip that features a sneak peek of the new Durthu which is accompanied by a short caption. It reads, "He makes no distinction between the lost, the innocent and the wicked — all who tread Durthu's beloved glades without leave are doomed if the Elder happens upon them."

The refreshed character will also be coming with a couple of new traits and items including the Sword of Daith which enables his blade to unleash a wave of power that renders enemies incapacitated for a time. Rage of Kurnous, on the other hand, "grants a factionwide weapon strength buff." Elders of the Ancients, meanwhile, is a cool new capability that keeps all units in his army protected from attrition. The Lore of Beasts allows Durthu to call the Manticores in the midst of battle which can be very helpful in tricky situations. The Howl of the Forest gives Durthu's allies a melee attack buff. And lastly, the Violent Delights provides major weapon strength after forest battles.

"Total War: Warhammer's" Realm of the Wood Elves DLC pack is scheduled to arrive on Dec. 8.
