Loki just might meet his end when "Thor" returns in 2017 for the third installment of the superhero film series.
According to Movie Pilot, the storyline of "Thor: Ragnarok" will show the end of days, just as Norse mythology says. Spoilers claim that Asgard will be destroyed by the giant fire called "Surtur." But Thor's home planet is not the only one that will be in danger in the upcoming movie.
Based on the original story written in Marvel comics, "Ragnarok" will show how Thor (Chris Hemsworth) literally rips Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) head off because he committed treachery. But could the film studio actually feature such vicious scene in the film?
There is also talk that Thor will have an epic fight with a giant snake and die, while Loki will fight with Heimdall (Idris Elba) and they will both die. If this is true, then just about all the major characters of the film franchise will be gone by the end of the movie.
However, early reports claim that it will not be possible to kill Loki since actor Tom Hiddleston is still under a multi-movie contract to reprise his role as Thor's adoptive brother.
Meanwhile, there are also rumors claiming that a female Thor will arise in "Thor 3: Ragnarok." Word is that, Thor might survive the epic battle that he has to face in the movie but he would choose to transfer his power to his lady love Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). However, Marvel and Paramount Pictures have not confirmed any of the reports pertaining to the plot of the upcoming film.
At this point, only Hemsworth and Hiddleston have confirmed their participation in the upcoming film to reprise their roles as Thor and Loki, respectively. The movie will be written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. Kevin Feige will also return as the executive producer for the project.
"Thor 3: Ragnarok" is slated for release on Nov. 3, 2017.
