In what seemed like a confirmation and/or announcement that everything is done, The Weeknd quietly unfollowed his rumored ex, Selena Gomez, on Instagram.
Some eagle-eyed fans also took note that photos of the "Wolves" singer, The Weeknd and Gomez, or those that included things about her were also removed from the feed of the "Can't Feel My Face" singer. One image was The Weeknd and Gomez at the Met Gala red carpet, uploaded on May 1, and another showing the former Disney child star kissing him.
A June 7 photo of the pop star, with the caption "Glow," was also removed from the feed of The Weeknd, whose name in real life is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. The last one was The Weeknd's feet photographed with Gomez's.
Even as the two had kept mum on the real score, their actions had spoken out for them. The recent move of The Weeknd was seemingly like what he did with his other ex, supermodel Bella Hadid.
The "Starboy" singer initially unfollowed Hadid's friends and family, and after how many weeks, unfollowed the Victoria's Secret angel as well. This was what he did as well with Gomez, unfollowing her friend Francia Raisa and family first before this news came out.
Speculations that Gomez and The Weeknd had broken up spilled over the internet earlier this month, just as the "Bad Liar" singer was seen hanging out with her ex, "Friends" singer Justin Bieber. Sources claimed that Bieber had been in contact with Gomez after learning of her kidney transplant this year.
Even so, insiders revealed that the split had nothing to do with Gomez and Bieber's get-togethers, which were heavily reported on as photos of them biking, attending church, and grabbing food surfaced. The reason for the split of The Weeknd and the "Fetish" singer was reportedly because of the conflict in schedule and the distance.
