Voice actor Nolan North recently revealed that "The Last of Us 2"  was now in development. But Naughty Dog, the game's developer, has neither confirmed nor denied it was planning to make a sequel.

North broke the news to a surprised audience attending a Metrocon panel earlier last June, according to Polygon.

"For now I know they're doing 'Last of Us 2,' but my character in 'Last of Us' kind of met an untimely demise," said North at the panel. Almost immediately after the actor made the revelation, a fan chimed in to express displeasure over the actor's spoiler. North provided the voice for a minor character in the original game.

Troy Baker, who provided the voice for Joel, one of the main characters in "The Last of Us," said he knew nothing about ongoing plans to make "The Last of Us 2."

Baker commented on rumors surrounding the creation of a sequel to the critically-acclaimed game at the recently concluded Indy PopCon, according to Game Informer. Baker did indicate that he would be alright with either letting the original game stand alone or by continuing its story.

The actor said the original game was a good enough work of art on its own, and no more needs to be said about it in order to validate it. He added, however, that he understood why a sequel might be necessary, especially with the way the game ended.

Baker said he wanted to know more about the personal evolution of Joel as a character and discover how things have turned out for Ellie in the aftermath of what the two had been through.
