"The Inhumans" isn't going to be a feature film, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Marvel, ABC and IMAX are going to team up to make the TV series work, and the first two episodes are going to premiere in over 1,000 IMAX theaters around the globe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Inhumans" will have a two-week run in IMAX theaters starting Labor Day 2017. After that, the series will move to ABC as a part of the network's fall lineup. Furthermore, the publication revealed that the first two episodes will be filmed entirely with IMAX cameras. Action scenes are also going to be filmed this way. And it sounds like at least part of the series is going to be set on the moon. Does this mean the city of Attilan is set on the moon?

The Hollywood Reporter's sources told them IMAX is shouldering the expenses for the first two episodes and ABC will insert additional content before it goes on air. Interestingly, the publication also said the TV series isn't going to replace the planned feature film. If that is true, how will that work out? A number of reports are also asking the same question.

The "Inhumans" feature film has always been the odd one out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When Marvel reached a deal with Sony to share the film rights to Spider-Man, the studio decided to push the movie's premiere date back to make room for "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Soon the film disappeared from Disney's release calendar altogether.

In an interview with the media outlet, Disney-ABC Television Group president Ben Sherwood said everybody involved in the project wins.

"We think this is a quadruple win — a win for Imax, a win for Marvel, a win for ABC Studios and a win for ABC to launch a show in an innovative way and get attention."
