Sheldon (Jim Parsons) will choose Amy (Mayim Bialik) over a much anticipated movie premiere in the next episode of the hit CBS series "The Big Bang Theory."

In "The Opening Night Excitation," an unofficial synopsis reveals that Amy's birthday and the "Star Wars" opening night will fall on the same day. Sheldon is stumped, not knowing what to do. On one hand, he cannot wait to watch the new installment of the epic saga and his childhood hero Luke Skywalker. On the other, he does not want to miss his lady love's once-in-a-year celebration. While contemplating on the best course to take, Sheldon will reportedly fall asleep and in la-la land, he will get his answer.

The genius physicist will dream of Arthur Jeffries aka Dr. Proton (Bob Newhart), who will guide him on his decision. In the dream, Arthur will tell Sheldon that he should prioritize Amy because he can watch the film another day. After the conversation comes the epiphany on what he should do to make Amy's day really special. That is the time Sheldon realizes that the time has come for him and Amy to sleep together.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Parsons and Bialik talked about the much awaited moment for the couple. They both admitted that when they saw the script for the first time, they could not believe what it contained. The actor said he was thoroughly surprised, but he felt that it was the right time for his character and Amy. For her part, Bialik shared she was apprehensive, but changed her mind after they filmed the intimate scene with ease.

"I was kind of nervous when I first saw where it was going — that it was going to feel voyeuristic or kind of icky, but it's very tender. It's very sweet," she said.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
