The filming for "Switched at Birth" is already in full swing for season 5.

Series creator Lizzy Weiss continuously updates fans of the family drama regarding the progress of the production on Twitter.

In one post, Weiss shared a photo of Emmett (Sean Berdy) and Melody (Marlee Matlin) Bledsoe, who seem to have a serious talk in one of the scenes in "Switched at Birth" season 5.

While the photo does not reveal any details regarding the scene, the series creator revealed that the scene was shot during the second day of season 5 production.

Season 4 ended with an explosive cliffhanger, when Bay Kennish (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne Vasquez (Katie Leclerc) received a call from home while the two were beginning a new life together in China. Based on their looks, the message that was relayed to them was not good news. This means that they must return home to face the problem.

Several speculations were raised because of the call. According to EconoTimes, rumors claim that the caller might have told Bay that her parents John (D.W. Moffett) and Kathryn (Lea Thompson) will go through a divorce, while others speculated that the news was about some complications regarding Toby (Lucas Grabeel) and Lily's (Rachel Shenton) newborn son Carlton. However, Weiss has yet to confirm if any of the speculations are correct.

However, the series creator revealed in a previous interview with The Wrap that there are lots of things to sort out after the cliffhanger in season 4.

"Not everything is fleshed out, but there is a general plan ... We had a million ideas [for what the cliffhanger would be], and we may still use a couple of them. There are some stories that I still love and that we may still use," Weiss revealed.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 is expected to premiere in April 2016.
